Very important is a road loss of second rankedPiratas (11-7) against fourth ranked Storm (11-7) on Thursday night. Visiting Piratas were defeated by Storm in a tough game in San Andres Island 81-87 . It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Piratas. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Carrib.Storm made 9 blocks. The former international guard Romario Roque (175-1998) fired 23 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. American-Dominican Luis Martinez (198-1984, college: William Pater.) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and Nicaraguan forward Josmel Martinez (198-1999, college: Broward CC) added 17 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Carrib.Storm moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Piratas. Carrib.Storm will meet at home league's leader Motilones in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Piratas will have a break next round.
