There was no surprise in Villavicencio where 5th rankedCimarrones (4-16) were defeated by first ranked Caimanes (15-5) 99-89 on Saturday. Caimanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Caimanes made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Sebastian Valencia (200-1997) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Panamanian Alejandro Grant (199-1993) who added 22 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Caimanes players scored in double figures. Caimanes' coach let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Markus Terry (188-1995, college: USC Aiken) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Serbian center Darko Balaban (210-1989, agency: Helping Ballers) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Newly promoted Caimanes maintains first position with 15-5 record, which they share with Paisas. Cimarrones lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Piratas.
