Regular Season Round 7: Paisas - Sabios 95-85

An exciting game was played in Medellin. Third rankedPaisas faced 4th placed Sabios . Host Paisas (7-3) defeated guests from Manizales (5-5) 95-85 . Paisas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sabios ' 40. They outrebounded Sabios 46-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. Sabios were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ty-Shon Alexander (193-1998, college: Creighton) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists. Luis Almanza contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Paisas players scored in double figures. Paisas' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezuelan Carlos Fulda (186-2002) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) added 25 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sabios. Paisas have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Caimanes. Sabios at the other side keep the fourth position with five games lost.
