Regular Season Round 9: Piratas - Carrib.Storm 106-71

Date: April 30, 2026
Bottom-ranked Storm (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 106-71 loss to third ranked Piratas (7-3) in Bogota on Thursday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Piratas made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game, while Carrib.Storm only scored nine points from the stripe. Piratas forced 19 Carrib.Storm turnovers and outrebounded them 47-24 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Carrib.Storm helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Panamanian forward Aaron Gedeon (203-1999, college: Southwest) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). The former international power forward Santiago Serna (203-2001) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Piratas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Luis Viloria (-1999) who recorded 19 points and 4 assists and Andres Mosquera (196-1994) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Piratas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Carrib.Storm at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Piratas are looking forward to face Paisas (#5) in Medellin in the next round. Carrib.Storm will have a break next round.
