Regular Season Round 10: Cimarrones - Toros 46-36

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-rankedToros (10-2) in Quibdo-Choco on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Cimarrones (7-5) 46-36 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toros. Cimarrones held Toros to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Toros 46-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Venezuelan point guard Jesus Medina (188-1994) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds. Center Andres Bejarano (202-1987) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Emmanuel Payton-Clottey (183-1997, college: FSU) replied with 8 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward James Montgomery (203-2001, college: Barry) added 4 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Toros. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cimarrones maintains third position with 7-5 record having just three points less than leader Toros, which they share with Paisas. Toros at the other side still keep top place with two games lost.
