The game between third rankedAmbato S. (1-3) and fourth ranked Cuenca Ambato S. was defeated by Cuenca at home 71-87 . Cuenca dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ambato S. 's 36 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Michael Kirhland orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Davis Jajas contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Four Cuenca players scored in double figures. Cuenca's coach Doyle Misael used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Kevin Preciado (-2007) answered with 25 points and point guard Alfredo Salgado (188-1995) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ambato S.Cuenca left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with Iccan and Ambato S.
