The game between Top Four teams took place in Guayaquil. 3rd ranked hostIccan (3-5) lost to second ranked Deportivo Gold (7-1) 100-87 . American forward Elias Cave (201, college: Minot St.) notched 33 points (!!!) to lead the effort and Cuban forward Darol Hernandez-Zinenko (207-1989) supported him with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Deportivo Gold players scored in double figures. Even 25 points by the former international Adrian Rivadeneira (186-2001) did not help to save the game for Iccan . The former international point guard Mateo Moncayo (186-2002) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Deportivo Gold have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alvarado. Iccan at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third place with five games lost.
