Regular Season Round 9: Pat City - Solola 79-89

Bottom-rankedPat City (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 89-79 loss to second ranked Solola (6-2) in Guatemala on Monday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Solola dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Pat City 's 38. They outrebounded Pat City 47-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. American center Taliik Ross (213, college: Keyano) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds for the winners and Cristopher Montufar chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Solola players scored in double figures. Solola's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American point guard Dariel Medina (183-1997, college: DelVal) with 32 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Myson Lowe (178-2001, college: Converse) scored 35 points (!!!). Solola have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-2 record behind leader USAC. Pat City at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost.
