There was no surprise in Mexico City where bottom-rankedPenguins (0-6) were crushed by third ranked Libelulas (6-2) 102-36 on Sunday. Libelulas held Penguins to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Libelulas forced 36 Penguins turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Penguins ' players. It was a great evening for Gladiana Avila who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws). Four Libelulas players scored in double figures. Libelulas' coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Vanessa Santoyo responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Giselle Medina scored 2 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Libelulas . They moved-up to second place. Penguins lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost.
