Regular Season Round 9: Mieleras - Huskys 101-49

LMBPF top team -Mieleras (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Huskys (1-7) in Guanajuato 101-49 . Mieleras dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Huskys ' 34 and had 27 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Huskys only scored six points from the stripe. Mieleras forced 29 Huskys turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mieleras made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Destiny Pitts (178-1999, college: Texas A&M) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import Veronica Preciado (174-1997, college: CMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Five Mieleras players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Rachel Ortiz who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Emily Herrejon added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Mieleras . Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Huskys lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost.
