The game between third rankedUniv. Modelo (5-3) and sixth ranked Mineras Univ. Modelo was defeated by Mineras in Zacatecas 68-51 . Mineras outrebounded Univ. Modelo 47-35 including 36 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Univ. Modelo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International guard Karla Martinez (175-2000, college: San Diego) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Alma Dominguez (163-1997) chipped in 15 points. Four Mineras players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Melissa Ruiz (162-2002) with 20 points and 4 assists and Adriana Gonzalez (181-2001) scored 9 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mineras have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Las Avispas and Dragonas. Univ. Modelo lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with three games lost.
