Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mazatlan made 10 blocks. American point guard Elijah Weaver (197-1998, college: Chicago St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and Colombian forward Michael Wright (198-1987) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Devin Gage (188-1997, college: Fresno St., agency: MSG) came up with 22 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Roderick Smith (203-1999, college: AUM, agency: Haylett Sports) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Frayles in the defeat. Five Mazatlan and four Frayles players scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Venados have a solid series of three victories in a row. Mazatlan moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Obregon and Guaymas. Frayles lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost.
