There was no surprise when 10th rankedFrayles de Guasave (5-25) was crushed at home by first ranked Astros (22-7) 112-72 on Tuesday. Astros outrebounded Frayles 41-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Astros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Frayles ' players. American point guard Armani Chaney (178-1997, college: Tennessee St.) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 steals for the winners and his fellow American import guard Tray Maddox Jr (193-2000, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Chaney is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American Anthony Peacock (206-1999, college: MWSU) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tyrone Jones (193) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Astros and four Frayles players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
