Not a big story in a game when 7th rankedTijuana Zonkeys (12-17) were defeated on the road by third ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (19-11) 92-78 on Wednesday. Obregon shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. American players dominated the game. Forward Connor Zinaich (201-1997, college: Nova SE) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Greg Whittington (205-1993, college: Georgetown) chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Teddy Allen (198-1998, college: NM State) with 24 points and guard Joshua Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obregon maintains third place with 19-11 record having just two points less than leader Astros. Loser Tijuana Zonkeys keeps the seventh position with 17 games lost.
