No shocking result in a game when third rankedFreseras (4-2) crushed 7th ranked Abejas (1-5) in Irapuato 100-74 on Sunday. Freseras forced 24 Abejas turnovers. Strangely Abejas outrebounded Freseras 48-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Miya Crump (185, college: Jackson St., agency: Next Page Sports) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Taja Cole (173-1997, college: Virginia Tech) supported her with 23 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Even a double-double of 11 points and 19 rebounds by American-Nigerian center Rita Igbokwe (193-2001, college: Ole Miss) did not help to save the game for Abejas . Argentinian forward Ana Paz (180-1997) added 22 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Freseras have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Panteras. Abejas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Correcaminos.
