Regular Season Round 8: El Calor - Adelitas 65-73

LNBPF top team - Adelitas (6-0) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked El Calor (2-4) 73-65. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Alisia Jenkins (186-1994, college: S.Florida) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Chennedy Carter (175-1998, college: Texas A&M) supported her with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Adelitas players scored in double figures. Adelitas' coach Maikel Lopez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds by guard Rennia Davis (188-1999, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for El Calor. Swingman IimarI Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Adelitas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. El Calor lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Adelitas will meet at home bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. El Calor will play against Abejas in Leon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
