No shocking result in a game when third ranked Fuerza Regia (8-3) crushed bottom-ranked Abejas (1-10) in Monterrey 97-52 on Sunday. Fuerza Regia dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Abejas' 18. Fuerza Regia forced 23 Abejas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Morgan Jones (188-1999, college: Louisville) nailed 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side and American-Jamaican guard Morgan Green (175-1996, college: UC Irvine) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican forward Nairimar Vargas-Reyes (183-2000, college: Stony Brook) came up with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Nigerian center Rita Igbokwe (193-2001, college: Ole Miss) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Abejas in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Fuerza Regia. They maintain third place with 8-3 record having four points less than leader Adelitas. Abejas lost their tenth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Fuerza Regia will meet at home league's second-placed Panteras in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Abejas will play against the league's leader Adelitas (#1) in Chihuahua and hope to win that game.
