There was a minor upset in Guadalajara where 8th rankedHalcones UV Xalapa (2-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Astros (2-1) 90-72 on Friday. Astros forced 26 Halc.Xalapa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international point guard Moises Andriassi (185-2000) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (191-1992) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Justin Bibbs (196-1996, college: Virginia Tech) with 15 points and the former international Gabriel Giron (192-1988) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Halc.Xalapa players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Astros moved-up to eighth place. Loser Halcones UV Xalapa dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Freseros.
