Regular Season Round 6: El Calor - Mineros 69-82

There was no surprise in Cancun where 11th rankedEl Calor (1-5) was defeated by second ranked Mineros (5-1) 82-69 on Friday. Mineros dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to El Calor 's 34. American-Argentinian guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Mineros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Gerard DeVaughn (205-1988, college: Stillman) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Argentinian swingman Martin Fernandez (195-1997) scored 18 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mineros maintains second position with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Soles, which they share with Diablos. Loser El Calor dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. They share the position with Panteras and Santos.
