The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh rankedEl Calor 's (3-5) road victory over 12th ranked Abejas (1-5) in Guanajuato 84-66 on Monday. El Calor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian swingman Martin Fernandez (195-1997) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American center Gerard DeVaughn (205-1988, college: Stillman) accounted for 7 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Dakota Quinn (206-1997, college: MNU) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and American-Dominican guard Quarry Greenaway (193-1994, college: JWU, RI, agency: Daggers Sports) added 14 points respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. El Calor moved-up to eighth place. Abejas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Panteras and Santos.
