Rather predictable result when seventh rankedVenados (4-5) won against on the road bottom-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (2-5) 93-86 on Saturday. Mazatlan made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Mazatlan outrebounded Los Mochis 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Guard Clyde Trapp (193-1998, college: Charlotte) nailed 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Latrell Jones (196-1998, college: Nicholls) accounted for 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Matthew Butler (188-1995, college: UT Martin) came up with 17 points and 7 assists and center Arnett Moultrie (208-1990, college: MSU) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Los Mochis in the defeat. Five Mazatlan and four Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Mazatlan moved-up to sixth place. Loser Pioneros Los Mochis stay at the bottom position with five games lost.
