We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Mazatlan where 7th rankedVenados (4-7) were defeated by eighth ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (4-5) 83-76 on Wednesday. Hermosillo outrebounded Mazatlan 48-28 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Cameron Gooden (182-1998, college: Utah Tech) fired 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dutch center Terrence Bieshaar (208-1997, agency: BIG) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Taylor Johnson (193-1994, college: Dartmouth) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Latrell Jones (196-1998, college: Nicholls) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Hermosillo moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Los Mochis. Loser Venados dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Angeles.
