No shocking result in a game when third rankedToros (9-5) edged on the road 9th ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (4-10) 109-108 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for Jamaican-American guard Rashad James (185-1990, college: Iona) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Gabriel Giron (192-1988) helped adding 24 points and 5 rebounds. Toros' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Amir Spears (190-2001, college: UTSA) responded with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import forward Isaiah Powell (198-1999, college: Vermont) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toros . They moved-up to second place, which they share with Obregon. Guaymas lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Culiacan.
