The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth rankedCaballeros de Culiacan 's (9-19) road victory over bottom-ranked Venados (5-19) 110-103 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Culiacan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. point guard Roddy Peters (193-1995, college: Nicholls) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 12 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Johnny Hughes III (201-1997, college: UIW) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Taylor Johnson (193-1994, college: Dartmouth) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Clyde Trapp (193-1998, college: Charlotte) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Culiacan and five Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Culiacan maintains tenth place with 9-19 record. Loser Venados stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost.
