There was no surprise when 8th rankedOstioneros de Guaymas (10-14) were crushed on the road by third ranked Frayles de Guasave (16-10) 120-98 on Friday. Frayles dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Ostioneros de Guaymas ' 50. Frayles forced 19 Guaymas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jemerrio Jones (196-1995, college: NM State, agency: JCK Sports Group) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and guard Octavio Octavio (193, college: Keene St.) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Terry Roberts (190-2000, college: Georgia) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Amir Spears (190-2001, college: UTSA) scored 24 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Five Frayles and four Guaymas players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Frayles de Guasave have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 16-10 record having just three point less than leader Astros. Loser Ostioneros de Guaymas keep the eighth position with 14 games lost.
