There was a small surprise when sixth rankedToros (13-13) defeated on the road 4th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (16-12) 94-82 on Wednesday. Toros dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Tijuana Zonkeys 's 22 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The former international Gabriel Giron (192-1988) notched 19 points to lead the effort and American guard Daniel Bejarano (193-1991, college: Colorado St.) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Perry Jones III (211-1991, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for Tijuana . His fellow American import power forward Alex Williams (203-1993) added 13 points and 4 assists. Five Toros and four Tijuana players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toros maintains sixth position with 13-13 record, which they share with Los Mochis. Loser Tijuana Zonkeys keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost.
