There was no surprise in Nuevo Laredo where 6th rankedToros (13-16) were defeated by first ranked Astros (24-1) 98-93 on Thursday. Astros made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban forward Yoanki Mencia (198-1997) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Jamaican Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (195-1991, college: Lamar, agency: Network Sports International) who added 16 points during the contest. Astros' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Daniel Bejarano (193-1991, college: Colorado St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Five Astros and four Toros players scored in double figures. Astros have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 24-1 record. Toros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 16 games lost.
