There was a surprise result when tenth rankedCaballeros de Culiacan (13-19) defeated on the road higher ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (16-16) 86-82 on Friday. Culiacan made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Roddy Peters (193-1995, college: Nicholls) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Alex Williams (203-1993) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Markedric Bell (203-1999, college: PVAMU) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Caballeros de Culiacan have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Hermosillo. Tijuana lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 16 games lost.
