There was an upset in Nuevo Laredo where higher rankedToros (13-16) were defeated by tenth ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (12-17) 104-93 on Saturday. Guaymas made 26-of-27 free shots (96.3 percent) during the game. Guaymas outrebounded Toros 39-27 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guaymas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Gage Davis-McMurrin (195-1995, college: St.Cloud St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) who added 26 points during the contest. American guard Daniel Bejarano (193-1991, college: Colorado St.) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Jamaican-American guard Ra'shad James (185-1990, college: Iona) scored 23 points. Five Guaymas and four Toros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guaymas maintains tenth position with 12-17 record. Toros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 16 games lost.
