Regular Season Round 25: Mazatlan - Toros 91-84

There was a minor upset in Mazatlan where 9th rankedToros (17-21) were defeated by bottom-ranked Venados (8-30) 91-84 on Tuesday. Mazatlan forced 27 Toros turnovers. Strangely Toros outrebounded Mazatlan 46-25 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mazatlan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Dakota Quinn (206-1997, college: MNU) fired 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import guard Anthony Nelson (193-1998, college: Manhattan) chipped in 19 points. Five Venados players scored in double figures. Jamaican-American guard Rashad James (185-1990, college: Iona) produced 20 points and American forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mazatlan maintains eleventh place with 8-30 record. Loser Toros dropped to the seventh position with 21 games lost. They share it with Culiacan.
