There was no surprise when 10th rankedOstioneros de Guaymas (15-23) were edged at home by fifth ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (19-19) 83-80 on Wednesday. American forward Perry Jones III (211-1991, college: Baylor) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international Fabian Jaimes (198-1992) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Trinidad and Tobago center Johnny Hamilton (213-1994, college: UT Arlington) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Guaymas players scored in double figures. Tijuana maintains fifth place with 19-19 record. Loser Ostioneros de Guaymas keep the tenth position with 23 games lost.
