Regular Season Round 27: Culiacan - Guaymas 94-81

There was no surprise when 10th rankedOstioneros de Guaymas (16-24) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (18-22) 94-81 on Saturday. Strangely Guaymas outrebounded Culiacan 38-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Culiacan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Guaymas ' players. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for point guard Roddy Peters (193-1995, college: Nicholls) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 17 assists. Power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) helped adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. Five Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Terry Roberts (190-2000, college: Georgia) with 25 points and forward Max Agbonkpolo (206-2000, college: Montana St.) scored 21 points. Culiacan moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Toros and Los Mochis. Loser Ostioneros de Guaymas keep the tenth position with 24 games lost.
