The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Managua:Jaguares (#1) and Leones (#5). Jaguares (10-0) crushed visiting Leones (4-6) by 17 points 95-78 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leones. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Four Jaguares players scored in double figures. Jaguares' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezuelan center Miguel Bolivar (205-1992) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and Puerto Rican point guard Luis Gonzalez (183-1997, college: PR-Bayamon) added 25 points in the effort for Leones. Jaguares have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Leones at the other side keep the fifth position with six games lost.
