There was no surprise in Puerto Cabezas where 14th rankedLa Trinidad (1-2) was defeated by eleventh ranked Mineros (2-2) 76-69 on Sunday. Mineros forced 25 La Trinidad turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Eugenio Rattrey who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and Jose Mccurbia who added 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Mineros players scored in double figures. At the losing side Luder Hernandez (195-1995) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Mario Garcia (182-2000) scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mineros moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. La Trinidad at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with two games lost. They share it with Hurricane.
