We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Managua where 10th rankedTipitapa (5-7) was defeated by eleventh ranked Mineros (7-6) 83-78 on Sunday. Mineros forced 22 Tipitapa turnovers and had a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jose Mccurbia fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Armando Martinez (190-1988) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Oscar Ramirez (175) produced 23 points and Alejandro Tenorio added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Mineros moved-up to eighth place. Loser Tipitapa dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost.
