Another exciting game was played in Managua between second rankedFlecheros and one of their biggest challengers UAM Univ. where Flecheros (13-1) beat UAM Univ. (12-2) on the road with 18-point difference 87-69 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Flecheros dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to UAM Univ. 's 32. They outrebounded UAM Univ. 41-30 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international swingman Francisco Garth (195-1999) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. International Kevin Andino (186-2002) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Flecheros players scored in double figures. The former international guard Vansdell Thomas (185-1986) replied with 22 points and Ervin Morgan (193-1986) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for UAM Univ.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flecheros keep a position of league leader, which they share with Leones. UAM Univ. at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost.
