There was no surprise in Managua where 14th ranked La Libertad (4-8) was crushed by tenth ranked Americas 2 (7-6) 104-76 on Sunday. Americas 2 forced 33 La Libertad turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Americas 2 made 7 blocks. The former international forward Troy Andrews (196-2000) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Jovanni Serrano chipped in 21 points and 6 assists during the contest. Erling Lopez (-1994) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Roberto Sirias produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Americas 2 moved-up to eighth place, which they share with La Trinidad and Mineros. Loser La Libertad keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost.
