Not a big story in a game when 13th rankedTipitapa (5-9) was outscored by fourth ranked Brumas (13-1) in Jinotega 118-68 on Saturday. Brumas forced 21 Tipitapa turnovers and outrebounded them 48-27 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brumas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Herman Mullins (-2003) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international guard Rafael Mendoza (177-2001) accounted for 14 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Five Brumas players scored in double figures. Cristopher Vargas Peralta came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Magdiel Rivera added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Tipitapa in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Brumas . They moved-up to third place, which they share with Leones. Tipitapa lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost.
