There was a minor upset when 7th rankedTigres (8-6) lost to ninth ranked Mineros (8-6) in Corinto 69-85 on Saturday. Mineros made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Tigres turnovers and outrebounded them 55-32 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Norvin Mairena who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jose Mccurbia accounted for 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. The former international Dwight Real (-1997) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Kelvin Espinoza (-2002) added 15 points respectively for Tigres in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mineros moved-up to seventh place, which they share with La Trinidad and Tigres.
