The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion:Olimpia K. and Colonias . Colonias were smashed at home by 17 points 67-84 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Olimpia K. outrebounded Colonias 43-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. American power forward Jeremiah Wood (201-1985) scored 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Rodney Mercado (191-1999) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Olimpia K. players scored in double figures. International center Juan Poisson (198-1998) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Stanley Scott scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
