The most exciting game of round 5 in the LNB took place in Asuncion. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-rankedSan Jose (12-2) to third ranked Colonias (12-4) 89-87 on Thursday evening. 28 personal fouls committed by San Jose helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International center Juan Poisson (198-1998) stepped up and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Stanley Scott chipped in 19 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Colonias players scored in double figures. International forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) responded with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Ramon Sanchez (194-1991) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Colonias maintains third place with 12-4 record having just two point less than leader Olimpia K. Defending champion San Jose keeps the second position with two games lost.
