Bottom-rankedLuqueno (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-68 loss to third ranked San Jose (11-3) in Luque. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Luqueno 's 24. The former international forward Fernando Dose (200-1994) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American swingman Austin Wrighten (192-1996, college: Lynchburg) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Wrighten is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Justin Strings (201-1996, college: Sacramento St.) answered with 16 points and his fellow the other American import import Dominique Morrison (198-1989, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) added 11 points in the effort for Luqueno. Four San Jose and five Luqueno players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Jose maintains third place with 11-3 record having just two points less than leader Olimpia K. Luqueno at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost.
