There was no surprise in Asuncion where 8th rankedSan Alfonso (1-5) was crushed by second ranked Colonias (4-1) 104-60 on Thursday. Colonias dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to San Alfonso 's 32. Colonias forced 26 San Alfonso turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. Colonias looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. International center Nestor Lopez (205-2000) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian power forward Norbertas Giga (208-1995, college: Jax State) chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Colonias players scored in double figures. Colonias' coach Juan Bidarra felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Alvaro Dominguez with 11 points and Fabricio Nunez scored 13 points. Colonias have a solid four-game winning streak.
