Regular Season Round 15: Colonias - San Jose 93-106

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion:San Jose (#1) and Colonias (#3). Colonias were defeated at home 93-106 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Colonias. San Jose shot 64.5 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. San Jose looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Fernando Dose (200-1994) who scored 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five San Jose players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Alen Juarez (201-2000) who recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Lithuanian power forward Norbertas Giga (208-1995, college: Jax State) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Jose (13-1) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Colonias at the other side keep the third position with four games lost.
