Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo:Nacional (#4) and Cordon (#6). Nacional (5-0) won against visiting Cordon (4-4) 98-83 . Nacional looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Gaston Semiglia (186-1991) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists and Chilean-Spanish center Manny Suarez (208-1993, college: Creighton) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Cape Verdean Victor Andrade (202-2000) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Fernando Verrone (201-1988) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cordon players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nacional have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Cordon keeps the sixth position with four games lost.
