There was no surprise when 10th rankedUrupan (3-11) lost to second ranked Aguada (11-3) in Montevideo 78-91 on Friday. Aguada made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Urupan only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Urupan 38-18 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aguada looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 25 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Federico Pereiras (190-1994) accounted for 17 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Aguada players scored in double figures. American forward Gokul Natesan (196-1994, college: Colorado Mines, agency: Haylett Sports) came up with 21 points and 4 steals and forward Octavio Medina (195-1996) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for Urupan in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Aguada . Defending champion maintains second place with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Nacional. Urupan lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Trouville.
