There was a surprise result in Montevideo where ninth rankedCordon (6-9) defeated much higher ranked Aguada (11-4) 96-88 on Thursday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cordon made 7 blocks. Cape Verdean Victor Andrade (202-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Deshone Hicks (178-1999, college: Ferrum) chipped in 22 points and 8 assists. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Juan Santiso (185-1994) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Five Aguada players scored in double figures. Aguada's coach German Cortizas let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cordon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Urunday. Defending champion Aguada keeps the second position with four games lost.
