Regular Season Round 17: Nacional - Defensor 96-81

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo:Nacional (#1) and Defensor (#5). Nacional (15-1) won against visiting Defensor (8-8) 96-81 . It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Defensor. Nacional made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Connor Zinaich (201-1997, college: Nova SE) who scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Dominican center James Feldeine (193-1988, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in 20 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Facundo Terra (187-1998) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Dion Wright (201-1993, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Four Nacional and five Defensor players scored in double figures. Nacional maintains first place with 15-1 record. Defensor at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost.
