Regular Season Round 17: Bigua - Aguada 81-95

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo:Aguada (#2) and Bigua (#6). Bigua was defeated at home 81-95 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Aguada dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bigua 's 32. They outrebounded Bigua 41-29 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aguada players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American center Franklin Hassell (205-1988, college: ODU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Armenian-American guard Andre Spight (191-1995, college: N.Colorado) answered with 27 points and Spanish-Colombian power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-1985) added 8 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Bigua. Bigua's coach Nicolas Mazzarino rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains second place with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Nacional. Bigua at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Hebraica and Cordon.
