Important game to mention about took place in Montevideo.Bigua (2-1) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging Defensor (2-1) 91-90 in the game for the third place. Bigua players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican Jhery Matos (196-1996, college: Charlotte) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. American point guard Deshone Hicks (178-1999, college: Ferrum) accounted for 19 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Guard Facundo Terra (187-1998) came up with 20 points and point guard Mauro Zubiaurre (189-1994) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Defensor in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
